Having an IV drip as part of your fertility plan is an important piece to optimizing your overall fertility health.
The key benefits of an IV Drip for fertility are:
Unless specified, every IV Drip at Higher Health starts with the following base ingredients before we add on for your specific goal:
To help with fertility, an IV drip will also include the following:
Additional Vitamin C – Vitamin C helps support the immune system during preconception. It increases iron absorption and reduces cellular damage, both of which are important aspects of fertility. Vitamin C helps increase progesterone production and can trigger ovulation in women. In men, it helps improve sperm health and motility.
NAC – N-acetyl-cysteine reduces oxidative stress in the body, which is important as oxidants can cause damage to reproductive cells. It has shown to improve fertility in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), as it improves menstrual regularity and ovulation in these individuals.
Glutathione – In women, glutathione helps protect the eggs from damage that can be caused by oxidative stress during folliculogenesis. Research has shown that oocytes with higher levels of glutathione produced healthier embryos. A deficiency in glutathione is associated with premature ovarian aging. In men, a glutathione deficiency can negatively affect sperm motility.
Selenium – Selenium helps promote healthy follicles in the ovaries and maintains the health of follicular fluid surrounding the eggs. It can protect against miscarriages and birth defects associated with DNA damage. In males, selenium is required to produce sperm and can help improve semen quality as well as sperm motility.
Zinc – Zinc plays a role in fertility as it helps regulate female hormone function, ovulation, and cell division. It is required for the body to produce mature eggs that are able to be fertilized. Zinc plays a critical role in sperm development and can help protect sperm from damage. Higher zinc levels are associated with increased sperm count and volume.
Carnitine – Acetyl-l-carnitine is thought to help slow the aging process of the reproductive system. It has antioxidant properties and helps increase energy supply to the cells. Acetyl-l-carnitine helps with sperm maturation and motility, and protects sperm from oxidative damage.
Taurine – Taurine is found in the reproductive tract of women and plays a role in preimplantation as well as healthy embryo development. In males, it preserves sperm motility and sperm quality. Higher taurine concentrations are associated with higher sperm motility.
Additional B Vitamins – Vitamin B6 aids in hormone production by increasing levels of progesterone and strengthening the uterine lining, which supports conception. Having higher levels of vitamin B12 and folate (vitamin B9) can enhance fertility by supporting egg quality, ovulation, and implantation.
Frequency of Treatment:
Your frequency of treatment will depend on individual aspects gathered in your initial consultation.
In general, the recommended frequency for fertility support is weekly or bi-weekly for 4-8 weeks, while monitoring your progress and adjusting accordingly.
